Spyro's first appearance was back then a huge phenomenon.
STORY:
The plot is somewhat o.k. but i won't say it's the best, a creature named Gnasty Gnorc have turned the dragons in the Dragon World into crystal-shaped pedestals because every dragon despised him. Every dragon was turned into crystal-shaped pedestals, except for one lucky dragon named Spyro (you might know his name by now). Now its up to Spyro to save all of the Dragons and bring peace to the Dragon World from Gnasty Gnorc and his Gnorc minions.
DESIGN:
The game itself is what some people can call it a platformer-game, knowing that you're going to have to do a lot of jumping, and gliding in this game. There are sometimes that you'll happen to accidently fall into an endless pit, do to a bad camera, even for some things like flying to the next platform. Some of the music in this game is pure classic, the only problem is the you will never here any of it in another new Spyro video game again.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay can be rather annoying at some point of the game, but its still fun, and very unique at the same time. For example when everytime you save a dragon, some of them can give you advise on how to master the controls good. Not just that, they will give you a saving point on the pedestal on where you save a dragon. Not just dragons that are need to be save, but dragon eggs are as well. In the game you will happen to find a thief in blue, and had stolen a dragon egg. There is a total of 15,000 treasure in the Dragon World, and yes you have to collect them all, also there is a total of 80 Dragons to save, there are 6 homeworlds in the game with 4 levels, and 1 speedway flight in every homeworld.
FINAL CONCLUSION:
Spyro the Dragon is an instant classic for many gamers, if your looking for a game that is nothing but a basic adventure game, then this is the game for you.
