A disgrace to previous Spyro games. But still an ok game in its own right.

User Rating: 5 | Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly GC
This is the first Spyro game made by the new company. Compared to the original three, this game is disgraceful.

The overall premis to the game was not planned out well. I never got to win the game because I fled from Ripto and could not re-enter. Ripto had gone into hiding from weak, powerless dragons instead of destroying them right when he had stolen their power. Spyro embarks on a journey to find bratty dragonflies to restore power to the dragons and destroy Ripto. (With me, I just trapped him in the underground for eternity.)

The gameplay borders on awful. For me, as long as I can enjoy a game, it's good. But the gameplay is technically bad. The levels (all NINE of them) are extremely easy. You charge around a simple path destroying a few enemies now and then until you reach a portal, the real challenge. The previous Spyro games were challenging in both areas, gliding, enemies, and hidden areas. The portals in this game border on impossible.

The music in this game is great. It really adds to the theme trying to be acheived in each stage. It really is performed well in addition to the mood given.

The graphics also help this. They make individual arenas that are interesting. There are some graphics that blow me away, they're just so good. Others look like cut and paste. Over all they really do greatly for for the few stages.

The controls in the game are loose. The movements are very large and hard to control. Countless deaths because Spyro walks an inch over the edge. The camera control is pretty much useless. It moves in the opposite direction it's supposed to and widely, then comes right back. These two make it hard to use breath accurately.

The sound effects are fair. There are some interesting sound effects that give me chills, and others like the charge that has one pat sound.

This game is glitchy. Some of them are frustrating, but one is interesting. When Spyro leaves a portal, he slides around as if on a skateboard instead of walking. There are rare graphics glitches and air walls.

This game isn't all that great, but has variety and enjoyability through it's faults.
