Spore Galactic Adventures fills in the gaps that were left by the previous game.

User Rating: 9 | Spore Galactic Adventures PC
Spore was a revolutionary game indeed. Yet it seemed to me more like the foundations of a bigger and better game, with lifeless Cell, Creature and Tribal stages. The biggest and most exciting part of Spore was the Space Age; with it's endless and challenging aspects. Spore Galactic Adventures really improves on this already great part of Spore.

WHATS NEW?
The new part of this game is the idea of a 'Captain' who is the commanding officer in your squad of Space Ships. This captain is used in 'Adventures' that are integrated into the space age of Spore.

The Adventures are essentially third-person missions in which you land on a specific planet and help out a specific race, or indeed destroy a specific race, or find a lost coin or treasure.

As your Captain completes these adventures he/she gains experience points which unlock a weapon, shield or other tool of your choosing; which you can then outfit your Captain in, which will aid you in your next adventure.

Perhaps the best part of Adventures is the ability to make your own. The Adventure Creator option is an extremely easy and funcrional tool which has a learning curve of about 5-20 minutes.

You can terraform the planet your adventure takes place on by raising the atmosphere thickness, raising the water level, choosing colours for your atmosphere, sea and land. You can choose any creature to place in your adventure, make them a friend, enemy or your boss. You can make your aventures serious, funny or downright stupid.

The only limitations on the Adventure Creator is the fact that you have to assign acts to each mission. Each act has only three goals that the captain playing this adventure can achieve. Each goal in one particular act cannot be the same as a previous goal such as "Talk to Man" goal cannot be placed twice in each act. There are a maximum of Eight acts which allows for a maximum playing time of your adventure to be about 10 mins. Obviously if your goal is to talk to someone who is on the other side of the planet will make it longer.

EA adventures vary from extremely easy to near impossible, so it is probably a good idea to create a few adventures for yourself.

MY VERDICT
gameplay- 9/10
freedom of creation- 8.5/10
adds anything new?- 9/10
concept- 9/10

9+9+8.5+9= 35.5 / 4 = 8.87

Which rounded is up to a score of 9/10. Well done EA!
