One of the funnest, wierdest, and funniest games ever made!
I loved The Maw. For a lot of the same reasons I love Splosion Man. It was fun, very charming, and very funny. It also had great characters.
Splosion Man has all of those qualities. Your character is insane! Really! The animation for his movements are amazing. The enemies are also very interesting and funny.
The graphics of Splosion Man are bright, crisp and colorful. Now after 50 levels, everything does begin to look the same, but you'll be having so much fun running around exploding everything, you won't notice much.
The sound is really upbeat and very good, even though you will tire of the same tune after 50 levels.
As far as control, the game does a good job. Controls are easy and fluid. The only complaint I have is when the last 10 or so levels are so hard, and you have to be so precise, the controls get a little more frustrating. But that's only towards the end.
In fact, that really is my only complaint about Splosion Man. I love for a game to be challenging, but never to the point where it quits being fun. I did not have much fun on the last 10 or so levels. It becomes frustratingly hard.
And because of that, I was ready to lower this game's score...until I beat the game and saw the ending sequences. Let me be clear: SPLOSION MAN HAS THE GREATEST AND FUNNIEST ENDING OF ANY GAME OF ALL TIME!! It has to be seen to be believed.
Again, it is clear that Twisted Pixel is the best thing going for xbox live. It's also very clear that they care about the quality of their games and it's characters. I can't wait for their next game!
