Have you ever detonated yourself in to flames to escape a science lab, all the while making the scientist guards cooked to a delicious salisbury steaks?

You have? Then you must have played 'Splosion man.

There's no doubt that 'Splosion Man is simply one of the best arcade games out there right now, it make's you think while offering a fantastic cooperative multiplayer, and the presentation just casts out gleaming rays of undeniable charm. The only problem I have is that the game is almost overly simple.

The co-op with 50 separately made levels is great fun with a friend or three. It created some spots where teamwork was absolutely necessary, with timing, and quick decision-making all brought in to the mix. Which leads me to my next point...

'Splosion Man's platforming makes you think on your feet, while your flaming avatar gets off his feet 'sploding. I really enjoyed the levels in which you had to quickly escape from the rising water, while 'sploding barrel after imploding barrel.

Have you ever seen a game with multiple idle animations? There sure aren't many, and the attention to detail in the design of this arcade game is noticeable at the least. By the way, if you get the game, watch the credits at the end, trust me.

While it's attention to detail is high, the big picture in this game is slightly off the mark. There are 4 separate buttons for 'sploding and that's pretty much the only buttons you'll press the entire 100 levels of play. This can only offer so much, so the game's replay value is very low.

Overall though, 'Splosion man is a fantastically presentated simple platformer that showcases the genre brilliantly, for cheap too.
