A better choice than most games out there.

There is all that annoying talk going on about whether gamespot's scores are just and whether the reviews made are proportionate with "donations". Well Id generally consider that BS as this is probably the best gaming site out there and wouldnt likely allow such actions to cause loss of popularity... however as a gamer who plays dozens of games a year I really am beginning to have doubts as well.

The review for this game is just unfair. Now I finished this game before the review was out and was expecting a score around 6-7 which is fair. Yes the gameplay is not perfect, there are a few annoying platform scenes...but its not half as bad as described in the review. One thing that can actually ruin your fun would be the loading screens after lousy deaths done by mistake. However that problem is fixed once you install the game to your hdd. the camera didnt make the game unplayable or anything in fact I never encountered a problem at all. Even if it has any problems it isnt worse than any other hack and slash games that came out this year (castlevania for example had the worst camera). There is absolutely nothing that can prevent you from having fun if you're up for a very violent, psycho heavy metal game (i.e. if ur not a wuss lol:) )

I hate when people compare games but I just have to do as I have no other better way to explain this. If I would compare this game and vanquish (which got a 9.0) absolutely without being biased, Id say the overall quality of Splatterhouse is indeed higher. Yes that is a different genre etc but Im talking about quality over here. Vanquish had much more "wrongs" and less "rights" compared to Splatterhouse. If Im not mistaken both reviews were done by Kevin VO whom I enjoy listening the most in reviews. But it just doesnt add up. there is NO WAY absolutely NONE that this game deserves half the score of that extremely shallow game , with one of the worst voice actings and storyline ever(which is infinitely better in Splatterhouse) and just mediocre gameplay, which made me think the game was made by some amateur asians with freakish programming skills. And to think that game super meat boy got a 9.5!? Yeah that had better platforming ( ........................... ) .
Im beginning to believe that money does talk in these reviews and this is not just for gamespot but a much larger portion of the media as well...which is very very sad. It just pisses me off that these unjust reviews actually really do have an effect on the game sales since sooo many gamers depend on this site on buying the right game. So because of this review the company will not be able to gain the profits that it actually deserves to, whether it got this review due to lack of some bribing or just a plain moronism. Oh and ***** ign as well.
