Terrible game that rides on the back of a true classic

1. the controls aren't very good. 2. joypad support is dismal at best. i couldn't even get my gravis gamepad working at all. every time you try to configure it, it just gives you a blank screen. trying to pick the joypad on the start game screen will just inactivate the start game button.

3. the graphics are ok, but nothing outstanding.
4. the loading times are really long. just starting a game can take over 60 seconds on my quad core!
5. A.I. is very questionable. many times I had my goalie running up the field, leaving the goal unattended.
6. the default view gives you no view of your own goal which can lead to some frustrating moments.
7. you just don't get the feel of the distinct characteristics that were evident in the old game...each team seems rather similar.

all in all, a pretty lame duck, sloppy and half-hearted attempt to update one of the all time greats.
