*****REVIEW*****
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game starts with the classic appearance of the original Space Invaders, which give a great sense of nostalgia to anyone that has played the original. After a brief flash from the pass, the game transcends into a more modern looking arcade shooter, whilst using the same principals as the original of course. Like the original, your ship features the same general idea, moving left and right whilst shooting moving object know as "Space Invaders", before they make their way to the bottom of the screen. Infinity however is slightly more intuitive than the original. As you get further into the game, your ship will develop through evolution, which then transcends your ship's (and the gameplay) abilities to the next level, such as your ship being able to travel in any direction. This of course will change the gameplay entirely from the original such as enemy objects can and will come from any direction instead of just from the top of the screen. Space Invades Infinity is a very simplistic game, but it can be quite challenge to say the least. As you progress through the game and as you evolve, you'll unlock new features such as new weapons, increased your life limit, as well as unlocking bonus stages. Playing each stage results in one thing, shooting everything that moves, which includes standard enemy UFO's, massive ships, enemy projectiles, as well as boss encounters. To aid you through the game are none threatening UFO's that occasionally pass the screen, which when shot down will release DNA that will ultimately increases your ship's weapon effectiveness, which will remain with you until you have lost a life. One hit is enough to take away one of your lives, which does make the game challenging. When all your lives have been depleted, you must restart the level from the beginning.

Infinity's visuals are nothing worth talking about. Compared to other arcade games today, the visuals are bland and simplistic, but it does have a charm to it. Whilst the overall visuals may just be objects and random lines here and there, Infinity is a very mesmerising game.

Infinity's sound design is awesome! Whilst the retro music isn't anything I would call memorable, the classic arcade sound effects is indeed wicked. The awesome thing about Infinity is that you can play your own music saved on your PS3 hard drive during gameplay. Playing AC/DC's Hells Bells whilst kicking space alien butt has never been so awesome.

Overall, Space Invaders Infinity is a great rendition of a good classic arcade shooter. I'm a guy that likes the classics, and I do like it when companies make renditions of old games. Playing Infinity brought back memories, and I for one love it. If you're like me, someone who likes arcade shooters and renditions of classic arcade games, or a youngster interested in gaming history… Space Invaders Infinity is a game worth checking out. It's also a game that's worth the purchase.

My Thought Score – 8.5
A great solid shooter based on an old arcade classic. Space Invaders Infinity is an arcade game that I very much enjoyed, and I would recommend it highly if your into fast paced arcade gaming.

-----------------------------------------------------

Presentation – 10/10
Infinity stays true to the original 31 year old classic Space Invaders, but with a little more oomph.

Graphics – 7/10
Comparing Infinity's graphics to some of the other arcades game out today isn't very fair. Inspired by the original, Infinity is a good and interesting looking arcade to say the least.

Game-Play – 8.5/10
Ever though you'll be doing the same thing over again throughout the game, which can be tiring after a while, the gameplay is where Infinity shines best. Classic fast paced arcade action, which is very addictive.

Sound Effects – 9/10
Whilst the retro music isn't anything special, the sound design is wicked and stays true to the original. Plus, you can play your own music stored in your hard drive during gameplay, with is also wicked.

Concept – 8/10
Inspired by a 31 year old game; you can't beat the old days.
