Great fighting game without the obsessive amounts of unecissary gore.

Soul Calibur or Mortal Combat both of which are great fighting games, both similar in control and graphics and character selection. However I would have to say Soul Callibur can easily appeal to a larger crowd and just a much more enjoyable feel. Being a weapons based fighting game the absense of blood and gore is a bit of a downer but the flash and light effects used during a strike provides some nice eye candy. One thing that frustrated me beyond beliefe playing this game was the horrible tendency to stop trying to skillfully fight and just button smash. Trying to do some of the combinations provided for the controller is as hard as if you yourself were going to try and realistically try the move.
Bottom line:
Awesome fighting game that is well worth buying and playing for hours on end both single player and multiplayer with friends.
