Sonic R was brought for me as a littlun, I loved it, but my reading skills were crumby so I couldn't do much. Now that I've improved, I've realised how much fun this game actually is. The graphics are lousy for our age but back then these were the best. All the original competitors, with the wonderful extras added in like Super Sonic. The courses to play are great, adding shortcuts, coins and emeralds to collect and the powerups & rings. The modes you get are pretty clever, time attack, where you try and good a good time then beat up it, takes your previous time and creates a player to go round in that time so you know how to win. Multiplayers alright, but the controls are pretty fiddly on the keyboard. Then theres the standard race, forward or reverse, games where you must tag all the opponents and one where you must pop all the balloons. The music in the races is very good, it gets my head bobbing and is made even better by including all the original Sonic sounds. If any, my only problem with it is that it is way to short, I really completed it in one sitting, but besides that it is a pretty solid Sonic Themed Racing Game.
