Sonic Heroes is Sonic's first original game ( excluding remakes ) since Sega left the hardware market. A lot of people didnt expect such a good game, since the scars were still largely open. Well they were surely wrong. In fact, Heroes is the 3D platformer all sonic fans wanted. Sonic is not about searching for levels ( Sonic Adventure ), or saving little birds ( Sonic 3D Blast ), Sonic is about running like a crazy b*tch trough the stages. Thats the fun part of Sonic. Altough Sonic Heroes really look's like a Sonic The Hedgehog 3D version, it's more than that, with a simple but clever team system. There are four teams: Sonic Team ( Sonic, Tales, Knuckles ), Dark Team ( Shadow, Rouge, E-123 Omega ), Team Chaotix ( Espio, Charmy, Vector ) and Team Rose ( Amy, Cream, Big ). Each team character has an exclusive ability that are needed to surpass some obstacles. The 1st character is speed based, the 2nd is flying based and the 3rd is strength based. Altough you use different characters, the speed one is the one you'll use the most, ensuring Sonic will keep his protagonist role in his team. Tales & Knuckles are just secondary characters used for special occasions, that happen in the right number: Enough to add diversity, but not too much, so it wont get repetitive.
In the end, Sonic Heroes is an amazing game that is fun ride from beggining to end, and like older Sonic games, recommended not just for fans, but for everyone. -gll25
