This is the best Sonic game in five years but that isn't saying much.

The game is easy at times when it was most enjoyable when you did what sonic does best which is obviously being speedy. Unfortunately all the speed was mostly saved for the 3-D sections which were linear and repetitive. You either ran forward and possibly beat down some robots, drifted, or quick stepped when not dealing with tedious sections where you either quick stepped into robots or ran away and dodged attacks from a big one.

The 3-D sections, though I seem to not like them Aren't bad because they are normally short and few and far in between, but the 2-D sections are tedious in the later parts of the game. In the beginning you run, platform here and there, and destroy robots, but in the late parts it turns into platforming on moving and mostly small platforms and more platforming. Worst of all The platforming takes forever because it's are bunched up.

On the bright side the graphics are amazing. During the area based on sweets I swear I may have started salivating the graphics are that good.
