Gory and innovative for it's time!
First I have played the demo from a gaming magazine and was also one of the first games that I have ever played on a PC.
I remember that I have finished that Metro level over and over again and was amazed on the graphics and the fact that when you shot someone in a area of his body, the bullet would leave his mark.
After a while I bought the game, installed it and was blown away with the gameplay the scenery and the story.
Now after over 12 years I can take a retrospective and remember the gory details, the twist in the story and the B-movie acting that was just right for this first person shooter.
The only downfall in the game that I have encountered was right at the end when because of the bug I have beaten the end-boss in under a minute.
Except this, I will always keep in my mind the good times I've had with playing the role of John Mullins - Soldier of Fortune.
