Soldat has 2D graphics, but to be honest, they actually look pretty good. There is a lot of blood and stuff when you kill a person, especially when you kill them with a sniper or rocket. The sound is nothing to drool over, but it gets the job done. Some of the weapons sound quite good, but some others, mainly the machine gun type ones, don't sound that great. All the machine guns sound very similar, in fact they could probably be the same sound.
Whats really great about Soldat is the Gameplay. It is really fun to play, you will have a great time. There are many different gametypes, including CTF, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch. All of the gametypes are really fun to play, and the varying gametypes add a lot to re-playability. The games learning curve is kind of tricky. The basic weapons, like the rocket, machine guns, etc. are easy to use. But, some of the better weapons, like the Sniper and the Knife, are harder to master. Ya, you heard right, the knife is a great weapon in Soldat. Its a one hit kill. =D So, final thoughts, Soldat is a great game, especially at its free pricepoint. You'll love it, download it now!
