Well, the long wait is finaly over. I've been playing SOCOM 1 since the day it came out, and SOCOM 2 has been THE game I've been looking forward to. After reading all the articles, and buying into all the hype that Zipper had done every thing that people had asked for in the sequel, I was sure that SOCOM 2 would not disapoint. And, in many ways, it doesnt. It still has Rock solid visuals, incredibly realistic sound, and a great single player campaign. But of course, the only reason most of us want the game is for its ON-LINE gameplay. Zipper said they were goin to give us voice chat in the lobbies, which they did. Zipper said they would give us more and better maps, and they did. Zipper said that there would be new weapons, and there are. But what is the one thing sipper didnt tell us??? That they would completey screw up the gameplay. First of all, you have no acuracy with your gun when you try to shoot and run at the same time. It used to be if your cross hairs were on the guy, even if you were running, you would hit them. Now, ecspecialy at a distance, your bullets go any where and every where except in the middle of your cross hairs. And besides that, it now takes several more hits to bring some one down. Were as before, 2 or 3 hits to the mid section would kill some one. And if you hit them in the arm or leg, it might go as high as 5. In this game, head shots give you a one shot kill about 95% of the time, stomach gives you about a 5-8 hit kill, and if your hitting the legs or arms... forget about it. Some say "well all you gota do is aim for the head" And I agree, but at a distance... in the large new maps ecspecially, even if your cross hairs are right on their head, you arent gaurunteed a kill. I've literaly walked right up behind some one, opened fire, only to have them turn around and kill me with one shot, because I was low on health. Gerrr... I could go on forever. I like SOCOM 2. And if I wasnt spoiled by SOCOM 1 I would LOVE it. But its simply not as good a game. Oh yeah... dont get me started about Proximity Mines... A pointless new weapon for the Terrorists... I predict that alot of people (including me) will hang their head in saddness and head back to SOCOM and wait for Zipper to get it right with SOCOM 3... My GOD I can't beleive they messed this up.
