A generic experience yet a very enjoyable one as well.

City Interactive has a bad reputation for making budget games that ultimately are incredibly bad or average. With Sniper:Ghost Warrior it seems that City kinda wants to "wash" their sins with this game. And though it's not a fully fleshed out game, I can say easily that S:GW is the best game from City Interactive(hats off!)

The game is about.... ugh I can't really tell because it may feature one of the worst story-telling in years to come. From what I understood you are some kind of US Sniper that has to stop some kind of Underground Organization that takes care of drug-dealing. The briefings at the beginning mission don't help too much besides telling you what you have to do in the mission. It's so confuse that it will blow your mind trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
Anyway, the whole game is a mixture between some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and 0some Sniper Elite elements, resulting in a generic setting, generic story, generic characters( Razor six 4, Delta 3, gimme a break!) and overall a generic experience. Even so S:GW can be a ton of fun especially when that cool bullet-cam triggers and you see some dudes neck sprawling with blood and acting like a rag-doll.

You get to shoot plenty of guns varying from different models of sniper rifles to ordinary ones such as the AK-47 and the M4A1. You mostly carry a sniper rifle after you but in some missions you'll shoot only machine guns that were aforementioned. The sniping part is incredibly satisfying, especially when you get to watch the awesome bullet-cam that is better than the one in Sniper Elite. The bad part is that the machine guns aren't as fun to use due to their incredibly high recoil( the cross-hair will go as wide as your hand) and because of the graphics ( that by the way affects both the sniping and the gunning). The quantity of bloom is excessive, making your enemies very hard to spot, fortunately when you snipe them it's a lot easier because of the slow-motion gig that highlights the target making it easier to spot and shoot.

The mission themselves are entertaining with a lot of sniping to be done but they are repetitive and generic as well, such as go there-> bring that document-> kill someone...etc etc.
Luckily for them, the level design is decent, I said decent because some missions are extremely frustrating due to their dense bushes and vegetation or as I said the excessive bloom.
There are 12 missions in the whole game that carry you around tropical forests, military villages, rivers, oil rigs and more.

Ultimately Sniper:Ghost Warrior isn't what it should have been.
Its flaws are severe and I hope some of them will be solved in the up-coming patches, I can't tell for sure. Even so, Sniper lovers should not miss on this game, because it offers enough thrills and sniping to satisfy anyone interested.
