This immersive, addicting sequel makes the Sly Cooper series one of the best platformers for the PlayStation 2.

User Rating: 8 | Sly 2: Band of Thieves PS2
Sly 2 is an exciting, original game in which you now get to play as all three members of the Cooper Gang, a group of thieves who use their unique skills to take down master criminals. The story in this sequel is very creative and takes numerous unexpected twists and turns as you advance through the game. Taking place at different real world locations, each chapter offers a large, free-roaming environment perfect for exploring every last inch and finding and unlocking all the hidden surprises that lie within it.

In Sly 2, you must utilize all your master thief skills such as stealth, navigation, pickpocketing, and puzzle-solving skills to complete each mission. There are eight chapters total with about eight or nine missions each, so the game is nice and long and never gets boring. You'll become addicted to sneaking up on and taking out enemies with the wide range of attacks and gadgets that are available for purchase. Trying to find clue bottles, collecting coins, pickpocketing, and exploration are all very fun free-roaming activities to tide you over between missions.

The graphics are excellent, and only a couple minuscule issues can possibly be found. The camera sometimes gets in the way of what you're trying to do, and the physical features of some of the more minor characters (i.e. guards patrolling the area) could have been a bit more developed. Beyond that, there are no more problems. The sound is great and really sets the "sneaky thief" theme of this game. The soundtrack also brings out the theme by setting a tone suitable for a master thief.

Overall, Sly 2 delivers a thrilling, exciting experience. You will have loads of fun playing it, and I highly recommend buying it. The replay value is high, so you'll definitely be getting the most out of your money.
