One of the last games I'll have bought for PS2. One of the only PS2 games I will be holding onto.

User Rating: 10 | Forbidden Siren PS2
I bought God of War 2 recently. I played about half of it, and then I went "Huh. So this is pretty much GOW again." It didn't grip me. So I went bargain bin hunting again, and saw Siren. I had wanted to try it in the past, but never wanted to pay 30-some dollars for it, since I had no idea whether or not it would be any good. But there it was now, ten bucks. What the hell, let's try it.

So... this is pretty much the best horror game ever. Not a perfect game by any standards, but I still have to give it a perfect rating because this game totally gripped me. I can't stop playing. It's just awesome. Like another reviewer here said, trial-and-error is the BOMB for survival horror! In fact, that alone sets it apart from Resident Evil and Silent Hill in a big way. Mostly in the way that it's scary, and not **** easy at all. RE...easy, and not scary. (Yeah, sorry fans, it's just not.) SH... easy, and usually only scary in an atmospheric way (still chilling though, mind you :) )
Siren? Trial and error indeed. Can't see, can't just run around with the flashlight on OR YOU'LL JUST GET KILLED, can use the sightjack ability to see through your enemies eyes as they are LOOKING AT YOU from god knows where! You're usually unarmed, and even if you are, it still hard as hell! It gripped me, and gave me a good nightmare or two.

If you are pretty much burned out on PS2 games, and you want to breathe some life back into your PS2 love affair, grab Siren. It rules.
