I feel bad for Siren.

This has to be one of the most under-appreciated games I have seen. Siren has gotten many negative reviews that, honestly, I feel this game doesn't deserve. For those of you who don't know, Siren is a third-person action adventure game similar to Silent Hill, but with more of an emphasis on sneaking around and avoiding conflict.

The story sounds sort of cliché at first but develops into a very creative tale as the game progresses. The small village of Hanuda, somewhere in Japan, has become a home to shibito, creatures very similar to zombies. A god worshipped by the villagers seems to be to blame for this. The basic idea of the game is that you control several people who are trapped within Hanuda ad you must try to escape, and figure out what's going on.

The gameplay is a bit sloppy, but if you spend enough time on it, it gets easier to handle. Each player-character in the game (there are about ten) has the ability to "sightjack", or see through the eyes of their enemies. You enter Sightjack Mode, and attempt to "tune in" to enemies using the left analog stick. Using the point of view of your opponents, you are then expected to escape the area, without being seen. And here we run into this game's only major problem. Avoiding being caught by shibito is nearly impossible, and when you are caught, you have no means of defending yourself.
