It has it's scary moments, but it's really a total letdown by story.

User Rating: 7 | SIREN: New Translation PS3
Most people say that the Siren series is alot like Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill seriously it's not. Siren Blood Curse is more of a bad version of Lost or Heroes. In a remote Japanese moutain village a strange ritual ends in bloodshed sort of it's religion in scaifing people for a ritual, American film crew get trapped on the mountain and becomes a living nightmare.

As the game begins you play as Howard Wright who becomes embroiled in the secret of the blood curse when he recives an anonymous letter requesting that he come to Hanuda village. There he witnesses a midnight ceremony that looks set to culminate in the murder of a young girl, Miyako.
When Howard intervenes to save her, a strange siren is heard- and the nightmare begins. There are other charcters in the game which connect to the story and have there own problems.

Gameplay= Comparing it to other Horror/Survial games Siren is completely different which require you to do certain tasks in order to complete the mission like escape from The Shibitos or find a key to open a lock door. Anathor thing which is important to the game is sight-jacking where you see through The Shibitos eyes by holding down L2 and using the right anlog stick or pressing L1 or R1 to flick through there minds.

Comparing it to Resident Evil 4 you'll be defenceless if you have no weapons but if you pick a basic tool like a hammer or a glass bottle, you can easily kill a Shibio but 5 minutes later it'll come back from the dead. It can be very annoying if you had a gun and you had no ammo and it came back from the dead you can use the the gun as a club. The gameplay aslo have SIXAXIS controls if your being attacked by a shibito or reloading your weapon or even baricading the door.

Graphics and Sound= Graphics may look nice for a survial horror game but if you have played through the Siren series on Playstation 2 there just the same but clearer and cinematic. At the end of each chapter it shows a quick preview on the next epiosde which you've probably remind you of other TV programmes that have that effect. Before the episode begins it has that TV effect like previously on Siren and shows what happens and whats going to happen next then the logo name appears.

Sounding and voicing are well done, the shibitos are the scaariest by voicing and making you to freak out a little bit. You don't hear much Japanese music because it is a Japanese Horror game but it is abit of a shame if your into Japanese films and music.

Overall= It was on the Playstation Network you you can buy 3 episodes at a time to download. Now they've brought the retail version there are no new features, the retail version is just a version for those who don't have playstation Network.
But it can take over more then 10 hours to finish Siren but the final boss is a total letdown making it feel like a bad Anime you'll be saying "what the **** is this?" and yes near the end of the last 3 episodes it really does get abit serious but the it's not exciting as it seems. For those who are into Horror games highly recommend you to renting this game before buying.
