Siren, in 2004, was a unique and interesting ambition. Though not many were able to appreciate it, I found myself overly addicted and enjoyed it very much. It's third addition did nothing but please me more. Siren: Blood Curse is a great horror thrill that provides and keeps intense interest and suspense. With an unbelievable story and cast of characters, playing this game was like watching a quality film without losing an ounce of interest.

Siren generally kept the same style of gameplay, but with great improvements. It no longer contains the irritating lag during a battle with enemies, nor does have the longer loading times. In short, it's much smoother and more reliable--almost less stiff, if that makes sense. Sight-jacking was another noticeable change. Now, a player can view the sight of another at the same time he or she sees...through a doubled screen. These was very helpful with those missions where sigh-jacking was an essential tool.

The game's most impressive factor, in my opinion, is sound. In all honesty, I've yet to hear a voice acting crew as believable as the cast in Siren: Blood Curse. Emotions, screams, basic talking...all were completely real and made the mood of the entire game that much better. Sounds of the creatures were also incredible. Several times during the game, I found myself startled to the point of a slight scream do to the howls and eerie chants of the enemies. The game's background effects and music were just icing on an already beautiful cake that definitely requires acknowledgment.

Never, have I ever seen the most amazingly superb shadowing and lighting in a game...ever. Siren: Blood curse absolutely took my breath away with it's lighting and shadowing. (generally occurred in dark rooms with slight shines of light...which was most of the game.) At times, I had a hard time telling if this was an actual film. Aside from that, the graphics, during lighted scenes, were often imperfect. Impressive, but not like the greatness of other games like Resident Evil, or Soul Calibur.

For anyone who enjoyed the first Siren, this game is a must...even those who enjoy horror, it is a must. Blood Curse may harshly confuse those new to the concept or game...so I suggest a while of research, or play the first before entering this amazing blast.
