As a veteran strategy gamer, but a newbie to this franchise, I thoroughly enjoy this game. It is a must have for anyone who is even somewhat interested in the 4X genre. Its massive scale is well executed and the HUD(while a little overwhelming at first) will become your best friend as it allows you to seamlessly manage fleets, planets, and research. It may take practice but this game is well worth the time and money. My only complaints are its lack of campaign and difficult to save multiplayer matches.
