Good story but EXTRA bad gameplay

User Rating: 7.5 | Silent Hill: Origins PSP
The good things about this silent hill was the story and the soundtrack. The was quite good just like many other titles on the series and this specific game acts as a prelude to the series. It pretends to explain everything based on the first Silent Hill and the movie. The soundtrack I found also amazing. Specially when you start playing, descending from your character's truck to Silent Hill and the music starts playing. That was so perfect that it felt like a great movie scene. Other good moments like that appear throughout the game and I classify that as a good gaming experience.
Unfortunately, the game play is the worst in the Silent Hill series I have played. Worst yet, the camera, supposedly to increase the fear and suspense, usually induces you to fall "right in the arms" of your monster opponents. Even worst is the fact that it is much easier to die with monsters along Silent Hill streets than to lose the slightest energy unit with a boss. Another disappointing fact to me was the fact that at least two bosses later became monsters in the streets or buildings of Silent Hill making them non-special at all.
The puzzles are relatively few and easy to solve if you read the notes. I believe that one offers a 2 minute thinking to solve and another one is nice to solve, being in overall slightly disappointing. Besides, some pretend to be extremely hard and pretensious but are directly solved.
One last comment is the extensiveness of one of the four areas to explore (almost painfully long) making this a ~5 hour game.
In global, I believe that every Silent Hill fan will enjoy the game as I did (even though it will be quite disappointing in some of the points I have underlined).
