Quite possibly the scariest survival horror video game ever made.
The graphics are amazing even by today's standards. They are still impressive after all these years. The graphics really add to the atmosphere. The normal foggy Silent Hill looks depressing, gloomy and lonely while the alternate version of Silent Hill looks demonic, dark, and horrific. Both are creepy and disturbing. The amazing detail to the facial features will surprise you considering it is a early Playstation 2 game.
The controls are as good as you will get for a survival horror game. It has been criticized for it's slow and dull combat, but in my opinion, it makes the game feel like a true survival horror game. By concentrating more on the horror atmosphere and less on the combat, you actually do feel like you are trying to survive. The game requires you to conserve ammo and health items since they are in limited supply. The one complaint I have in this game is that you can carry a unlimited amount of items unlike another survival horror series that limited the amount of items you can carry. It makes the game a bit too easy. Other than that minor flaw, the game is a true survival horror masterpiece that EVERY true gamer deserves to experience. If you like to be scared, I highly recommend that you buy this legendary masterpiece.
