I like turn-based, rts-build-up-your empire games, so I knew I had to try this out. Overall, it works out well, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. For one, the creation of your kingdom works nicely. You start off with little more than a few settlers and workers, soon to be built into the greatest kingdom of all ti...i mean, e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y to be built into the greatest kingdom of all time! I'll get to that later, though. Anyhow, the turn-based aspect works out well. It takes say 3 or 4 turns for a lowly unit, while you may be pressed for 400 turns for a big wonder of the world. Your cities can only work on one thing at a time, but a massive, world-power can finish something a lot faster than some random place you threw together for a few quick units. The advancement from barbarians to a more civilized race is entertaining, as the portraits of your peers turn from rags to a snazzy suit. Also, you have a tree of tech that lets you research things as you go along. Trains in the industrial age, knights in the Dark age, ect. Along with that, you also have to balance between a warlike people and a simple farming community. One of the cons that kind of annoy me, though, is that the other races never have any patience. It's like if in real life now Canada, most of Europe, Russia, and maybe, say, Brazil decided to wage war on us because they don't like our condition in Iraq. Really, you could give another nation a billion gold as tribute and they would still hate you. If you ask me, though, one of the most annoying problem is time. I understand that that is turn based, and that is much better than real-time, but I don't want to sit there for 2 hours just to have 3 good cities and a fourth of a world wonder done. Now, everything good in the game is great, and all the cons are annoying, but if you ask me, the number one, completely most ANNOYING thing in the game is....fighting. Maybe it's just me, but you could have literally 10 tanks and not kill a spearman. Units have primitive life bars that never deplete, and by the time your next 12985710498571097 turns are done and you get your unit to the enemy, their health is at FULL. Nontheless, this game owns. Just don't go into combat. -skalokos
