Have to pick this up after finishing off 4 then if the time line of if is between 4 - 5 :iirc D
3 Like I hate how everyone keeps whining about how Resident Evil 4 ruined the series. People keep saying it's not real survival horror.
But I have never been more terrified in a game more than RE 4 and Cry of Fear (technically a mod) and I was 9 or something when I played RE 1-3. The first 3 had tension but they were NOT scary. All they had was ammo scarcity ,ink tapes and backtracking.(Don't think I hate them though.They are still one of my favourite games)
@faizanhd Woa who is saying that????? Re4 was one of the BEST in the series. That game has some terrifying moments. Re5**** is when it went downhill. That game, took the combat of re4 and turned it into a full fledged action game.
2 Like @faizanhd The regenerators and anticipating when the dogs in the maze were going to come at you was pretty scary. The dogs in the beginning also provided some tension.
@faizanhd RE4 is a complete joke and a disgrace to RE. Its the downfall of the franchise and plays just like every other garbage ass RE games that are 5,6,Revelations. The game is a straightforward shoot em up and is not resident evil at all. I bet you havent played the game in the past 10 years cause even on hard I was carrying over 100 pistols bullets,50 shotgun rounds,sniper ammos,plenty of grenades and mixed herbs. They even added a god damn shooting range. Isnt that enough a clue at what audience this was targeted at? RE4 killed the franchise and everything since then has been fucking trash. This franchise is dead and gone until they release RE2 REmake or relaunch Outbreak and file 2 with functional servers. A REAL survival multiplayer game where interacting with others as a TEAM actually matters.
3 Like @faizanhd RE4 wasn't bad but scary? No way. You could just shoot your way through the entire game there was nothing scary and absolutely no tension.
@pcty I think you needed to play on a higher difficulty buddy. That game was designed to be very tense.
1 Like @pcty What about the chainsaw people, the pesky insect monsters, the infected dogs and the regenerating monsters. On the first play through these guys and others are nothing but pure tension and fright. But after upgrading, yes, it becomes more action oriented.

Maybe for you. But if you can just shoot your way through and there is plenty of ammo it is not scary is just action. The majority of shooters features enemies which you can't reason with but that doesn't make them scary otherwise we would be callling Call of duty an horror game.
1 Like The game could've used more puzzles and jump scares, but it was pretty damn good overall. It's closer to its survival horror roots than RE5 and RE6.
1 Like Expected better Capcom should have done more for console release. As it is, its just a 3DS game on big screen...with all the limitations set by 3DS. AI partners ruined Resident Evil. RE: Revelations would have been better with wiimote controls on Wii U. :)
1 Like Resident evil has lost it's way for me. 1-2 were classics. I remember just closing the lights at midnight and spending hours being actually thrilled for hours. This is the best example of how a game can lose it's way and become utter garbage! shame..

I was laughing hysterically on Twitter the other day when Xbox posted about Carolyn's tweet with something like "I've always said there has to be a better way to watch TV, and there now is Xbox One". And I tweeted and said you know she was being sarcastic, right?
Around 35 minutes in i'm pretty sure Tom says she's played through it like 4 times, so if it's as bad as she says then why would she?
Played the demo and I call foul on the criticisms about the graphics, there's some great texture work in the environments.

@mr_tootsie I doubt they played the original games despite praising them. Carolyn at least knew the answer after a second. Edit: He admitted he never finished them which is good, but that makes me wonder how you can criticize the new games if you don't know what changed.
this is what i think...if they are going to make this genric type of game..tie it in with the movies i think it would work better they should use characters from the movies...that way you can seperate the new games from the old and not ruin the characters we love.
I love Jill Valentine. She looks cute. I just wish I can play Claire Redfield like Resident Evil 4. They should do the story on her soon.
I was there for the live stream, had a good time. I still don't think it would be better with Kinect...
