As for the actual game itself, Shining in the Darkness doesn't quite live up to it's illustrious name.

The graphics are less than stellar, and if you think about it the storyline itself is very cliche. However, as one of the few Genesis RPGs, it's still mildly entertaining.

I'd say this game is actually better than say, Diablo (PS), which says at least a little, considering Shining in the Darkness is a 1991 game. Pitfall, originally an Atari game, is better than both, hands down.

As for enemies, well...they're rather 2-D, but at least the noises they make at attack is amusing.
