How does a PS2 game stack up against other games today?

User Rating: 9.5 | Persona 4 PS2
Story: The story starts up when the main character(Insert personal name)moves to a rural town, Inaba. Along the way, you meet up with many friends. Sounds like a place to hang out right? But during the strange events in Inaba, there is more to this town than one thinks. A world called the midnight channel(inside a T.V.)and whoever the person's image appears in the T.V., the person is doomed to death until you save the person from certain doom. The story is memorable as it touches the character's feelings during the game, though for those who played Persona 3, it may leave some people wanting more(Except me, I hated persona 3).

Grade: 9.0

Characters: Your party members include a wide assortment of characters, both normal and bizzare. As weird as it sounds, it is more engaging than you think. Instead of being generic, you can see the emotion in them. The main character's personality is shaped up to your choice during the time you progress through it. The only problems is that most characters may annoy you a bit.

Grade: 9.5

Gameplay: Unlike Persona 3, it has been revamped into a more balanced battle system. You can now control your party members and not get tired of fatigue. Inside the battles, it has changed much from Persona 3. There is now a guard feature(Cuz Atlus realized that stupid **** like stand by is useless)and no more Fusion spells(That may sound like a bad thing, but seriously, no one uses fusion spells that much in Persona 3 :). The gameplay is more challenging than one may think since Persona 3. Even though you have the ability to control your characters, that still won't save you from the attacks from the enemies. Instead of whoever cheaply gets the opponent knocked down in persona 3, it is now about exposing the opponents weak points and get to them first. This proves to be a more of a challenge than persona 3 presented.

Grade: 10.0

Social Links: As you explore Inaba, you meet a bunch of people. As you dig deeper in the game you can sense the feelings of the characters in Persona 4(Unlike Persona 3's emofest). Social links also play an important part of the gameplay as it is needed to gain more persona's, their skills, and their abilities in the game. The social links feel more of an important role than it did in Persona 3.

Grade: 9.5

Music: In the game, there is a wide assortment of music in the game. As you explore in the dungeons, there is different music playing. It also plays nice in battles too.

Grade: 10.0

Dungeons: All I can say here is that the dungeons are better than tarturus(Or whatever you spell it)the only downside is that the camera can be fidgety and annoying at times.

Grade: 8.5

Difficulty: The game has different difficulties to match the players choice. The game overall is harder than Persona 3

Grade: ?

Overall: As people begin to feel that the Ps2 is finally going to a close, Persona 4 is one of the last gems of the Ps2 to play. I truly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of RPG's and to other's alike
