probably the best $39.99 you'll ever spend on a psp game.

User Rating: 10 | Persona 3 Portable PSP
let me start by saying that before finishing this game i gave it a 8.5 because of it's few shortcomings, but now after finishing the game and playing it for the second time(which is something i rarely do, the only time I did that was with mgs4), i give it a 10 without hesitation.

if you played persona 3 or 4 before you will probably be disappointed by the lack of free roaming, anime cutscenes, and the fact that in all of the events you just see a picture of the location, you can't see where the character models are in the background, and sometimes it feels like a graphic novel.

sounds lame. huh? well not really, since the game makes up more than that in new additions(new female character, you CAN CONTROL ALL OF YOUR PARTY during battle, and more tweaks).
The lack of free roaming is very understandable beacause its a portable console, and the new navigation system in the game is quite comfortable.

gameplay is awesome, fun and addictive, there arent any camera problems anymore. dungen exploration wasn't repetitive at all for me.
the story is very good, some parts of the story are better then the others, but overall, very good.
soundtrack is addicting, true its repetitive but i love to hear all of the tunes. there are some new tracks. voice acting is flawless!
also new addition is 2 new difficulty modes- beginner and maniac, so yeah, the game is for anyone.

This is the best rpg on the psp (yeah better then crisis core), it is recommended for anyone, not only rpg lovers, this is not a classic rpg by any means, it's fresh, stylish, innovative, there are extremely funny moments, and sometimes you will find yourself shocked, and blown away by an event in the game.

you will spend yourself playing for more then 70 hours and at the end, wanting more and playing it again.
i'm not gonna explain about the story, gameplay or the system, you have it in other reviews.
long story short this game is recommended for anyone: newcomers, longtime persona fans, even non-rpg lovers.

this is truly one of the greatest RPG's at the palm of your hands, more then that, the psp is far more accessible then the ps2 system, and the psp version is also superior which makes it an excellent port!
