It plays like FES, but the differences are notable and much appreciated. A highly enjoyable experience for Persona fans

User Rating: 9.5 | Persona 3 Portable PSP
P3P does carry the same story as Persona 3 and FES, but the experience is somewhat more enjoyable with the addition of the new female character and a couple Social Links that are unique to her. The fact that a great game like Persona 3 is now portable is just a bonus. The new tracks unique to the female main character are also just as enjoyable to listen to as the original tracks. The slight change in the story is also rather pleasant, though it won't be noticeable to first time players. The dubbing is really well done with only a few minor errors, which are mostly gender, he/she/him/her mix-ups, but it's a welcome sight to see that they have kept a very amusing part of the original games. After all, what's a battle without Junpei's wise cracking or Atsuhiko's encouragements? The data install is a little off, sometimes refusing to work, but it's not that big of an issue considering how quickly the scenes and battles can move by themselves without the data install's assistance. However, this flaw is what keeps it from being a perfect ten.
