A pretty fun action adventure game.

Shenmue 2 is an action adventure game for Sega that was released back October of 2002 and is a sequel to the Dreamcast's Shenmue. Players play as Ryo Hazuki person who's out to avenge his father's death after he's killed by a man named Lan Di. Ryo goes to Hong Kong in order to track down a man named Yuanda Zu man who sent a letter to Ryo's father before his death.

Shenmue 2's graphics are like what was found on the Dreamcast so players should not expect much. It would have been nice if Sega had taken full advantage of the Xbox hardware and upped the graphics to take more advantage of the Xbox power but sadly they didn't.

Shenmue 2's gameplay is pretty basic but with a few nice twists. While players will mainly run around from place to place there is a very nice combat system that while simple in execution is quite solid. Players will solve fights through punches and kicks and while the controls are simple to use the more complex moves require more precise button presses and all moves have their own ups and downs. The puzzles in Shenmue 2 are pretty basic and fairly simple but the more complex quick time events can be challenging at times.

Shenmue 2's audio is hands down beautiful in that it creates the perfect tune for each setting. The voice acting is fairly well done with some syncing problems for the mouth movements. However the music is top notch and sounds great.

Overall Shenmue 2 is a great game despite its flaws and is one players should defiantly keep an eye out for.
