A worthy continuation of the series.

User Rating: 10 | Shenmue II XBOX
Shenmue II is a true sequel to Shenmue. It delivers on all the good parts of Shenmue and more.
Again, the graphics are as striking as its predecessor. All the faces, environments and objects looking almost real. The game does have a more polished feel to it.
Gameplay wise, the game is just as good as Shenmue. It contains the free roaming element, the combat system and the QTE's just like the first. This time the QTE's come in different variations, adding a little more excitement to the game. The fights you find yourself having with gang members are more challenging this time around. And as you progress on, the fights get hard, making you practice a lot more, which is neat.
The game is much bigger this time. You see yourself in Hong Kong at the beginning, and then you move on to Kowloon later, and Guilin near the end. This makes the game much more fun, as there is more to explore and see, and obviously makes the game longer.
Again the musical score to the game is magnificent, better than the first games'. But the voice acting is a problem just like the first game. Its not as bad as the firsts', but isnt as good as it should be. This does take away from certain moments where there appears to be no emotion in the voice acting.
There are some added features to the xbox version, like the ability to take screenshots of the game, and change the cameras filter. This is a nice addition, but nothing major.
Overall, this game is better than its predecessor which was a near perfect game......making it...um...perfect!
