One of those games that where you wish there was another chapter.

User Rating: 10 | Shenmue II XBOX
Shenmue II was a great game and it's a shame there's no Shenmue III. You play as Ryo Hazuki, the guy focused on revenge because Lan Di killed his father, Iwao back in Yokosuka. During his journey in Hong Kong, he meets new people like the slutty chick Joy, Master Lishao Tao (Xhuying Hong) Delin (DOO-LIN) and some bad people from a gang called the Heavens. Luckily, it comes with the first Shenmue in movie format which is basically the game with some of the gameplay scenes cut out. There, you'll know and understand Shenmue. What I liked about the game is how magnificent the story is and the camera angles make the sequences look like you're watching a movie and there's drama, comedy, and action, just like a movie. It's a game that keeps you very humble. Only bad thing is the voice acting. It's horrible. It's bad enough this game especially because it's for the xbox, that it has dreamcast graphics but the voice acting is so horrible that it makes 4Kids look good. Other than that, the game was cool. The fighting was cool too with its Virtua Fighter system and Ryo learns new moves but at some points, gets really stubborn because he wants to kill Lan Di. On one cutscene, Xhuying does a move called the point of Dianxue and says that if she were Lan Di, he'd be dead already. Ryo goes to 3 different places while in China. He later goes to Kowloon, and then Guilin, where he meets that chick known as Shenhua. What's cool about the game is that you can play the mini games on the Shenmue Collection on the main menu like darts, (my dad played that) wrestling, fight contests, arm wrestling, even old arcades like OutRun, Afterburner, Space Harrier, and Hang On!. All games by Sega-AM2 created by Yu Suzuki. If only they had Virtua Fighter. Where it really gets humbling is when Ryo and Shenhua walk together through that beautiful environment in Guilin and they talk about things like Japan, China, people, food, it kept me very humble and I was smiling throughout that part. The minigame thing with sequences where you have to press a button shown to you on the screen has you controlling the cutscene and that is why I liked that game. The fight with Dou Niu, really tests you on the QTE. (Quick Timer Event) I am still waiting for the next chapter and I hope Yu Suzuki announces it soon because I want to play it badly. MUST...PLAY...SHENMUE!!!!
