So Basically Shank is an old school beat'em up game, it uses a lot of what made games like streets of rage and double dragon successful and then adds it's own touch. In short, shank is truly an outstanding game.

The story is generic and easily forgettable, which is alright because the game bases itself around gameplay, not storytelling. However, you play as Shank, who's arch nemesis kidnaps a girlfriend and has something to do with your brother.. I don't know, something along those lines. It really isn't a good story. However when you get passed the story and dig deep into the gameplay, Shank really begins to take the spotlight.
Its simply just, fun! Every movement is kept simple and flows nicely, leading you on combos of a hundred and up dealing damage in a gory, blood stained manner, lots of collectables, artwork, costumes, guns and weapons, trophies and more.

Not only boasting great gameplay and a lot of fun the game has a very unique artistic bloody feel, it takes the route of an American anime with overly buff, gigantic brawlers and guns and explosions galore.
Everything is bright, vibrant and fun to look at.

The game features a unique multiplayer aspect telling a backstory, however its downfall is that it does not support online play, only local play. Which means you'll be grabbing your controller and head'n to your buddies house to play. That aside, Shank is outstanding and deserves a purchase, it's a great deal for the small price you pay. Pick it up.
