I don't know why this game is so poorly rated. I really have no clue. I enjoy this game very much. And more I play, more I get addicted to it. Its been a while since I play some really cool 2D game like this. In this game you have to play as the games name character "Shank". Game name and character name both are same and they are perfectly fit for this game. Because all you have to do in this game is slash and hack. And to do your job perfectly there are wide array of weapon to choice. Shank ,chain saw and duel pistol will be your default weapon. As the game progress you will be able to access more brutal weapon like machete, chain, katana and more. Each and every weapon have their own advantages and disadvantages. Some of the weapons are fast and do less damage to enemy. Some of the weapons are slow but do brutal damages to your enemy. Fast or slow that don't mean any thing in this game because all of the weapons are equally fun to use and there execution style is so cool and gruesome that it will encourage you to perform more and more long combo to see your enemy suffer. This game have a great story line. To me the games story is more like a 70's retro movie. Almost each level contain a cut-scene and each cut-scene slowly explain the games main story. There is also a unlock-able feature. You can unlock different character for your game. But you have to complete the challenge first to unlock your character. And some of the character really need good amount of effort. (like perform a 100 hit combo!!!!). Games art work is also great. It will give you an old retro feeling. You can also play this game along with your friend which will give you more fun. The problem is maps for co-ops mode are few. You can't play the whole game with your buddy. But although in my opinion this is a really good game. And you have to understand that there are many 3D game which are available now but there are very few hack and slash 2D game exist for PC and other device. Its game play give me the feeling of old arcade. I highly recommended this game and you are not going to disappointed if you play this game. At least I can ensure that.
