A pretty good game worth a look

If you are a Shaman King fan, you will enjoy this game more than anyone to be perfectly honest with you. If you're not a fan.....I'm not saying don't try it out. It's actually pretty fun when you get into it. Here's why : Gameplay - It's a SRPG/Hack and slash. Yes, this game has some strategy RPG elements in it, like leveling up, the stategy grid, and stuff. Usually you'll just go straight at the enemy though. There's usually little in the way to stop you from doing so. However, at the higher levels there is more strategy involved to help you make it though the game. You go at it like this until you actually get into a battle. If your character, Yoh Asakura, is involved, you will go to a battle screen. From there, it's a hack and slash as you try to take out your oppenent. It actually isn't too bad. Control - If you don't know what you're doing, it can be kind of confusing. Also, sometimes the controls can be clunky. Most of the time it really isn't that bad though. You'll catch on soon enough. From then on, it's a breeze. Graphics - The graphics are very, very good. It's almost like a 3D Shaman King, really. The opening sequences and battles are very well done. The story and intermission scenes aren't really too animated, but they can be amusing at times. Storyline - It follows the main storyline of the anime, with the additions of a few things. The addition of Meril Inugumi for one (she's a game only character....THANK GOD.) as one of the major focal points of the game. Her story becomes important later in the game. There was a few tweaks to the storyline in the game - Yoh winning three fights in a row in the preliminary for the Shaman Fight never happened. (Yoh beats Horohoro, loses to Faust VIII, and ties Ren/Len and advances to the second round). Also, Meril, although a new character, takes the place of Chocolove (Joko or something in the dub). Force Millenium also takes the place of the X-Laws in several elements of the story. (Beware of the Marco fans....). The game ends just before the three on three round of the Shaman Fight, after you beat Vineuvall and Zeobide (the game's final bosses.....no Hao fight? OUTRAGE! (Or...*shudder* Zeke)). I won't spoil it for you all though. But it involves the Funibari team (Yoh, Ryu, Faust) coming together. Final Thoughts - If you're a SK fan....PLAY NOW. If you're not, give it a rent and see if you like it. You can beat it in 2 or 3 days, and still have some fun after with the VS. mode. Have fun.
