Great ideas, great tracks, wrong game.

This game has some of the most interesting tracks I've seen. In a different game they would be really fun to drive. I was also pretty excited to see how the Geodeformation would look and work. It's too bad there are so many other things wrong with this game that I can't give it a better rating. Where to start?

The co-driver must be smoking crack. His calls are not accurate. He often calls a 45-60 degree turn an "easy left" or an "easy right". The only things he gets right are the hairpin turns. He makes his calls too late to be of any use. I found myself ignoring him and watching the map more often - not good for a Rally Sim. Additionally, it doesn't sound like he's in the car with you or over an on-board radio. He sounds like an announcer coming over a loud speaker outside of the car.

Car damage? There is none. This would have been a nice feature.

Only two car set up options. Soft road surface and hard road surface. That's it. No fine tuning what-so-ever.

Since when does a Rally race have 6 drivers start all at once at the same place? Single car point-to-point is the order of the day when it comes to Rally racing.

Lack of damage, car tuning options and mass vehicle race starts really make this more of an arcade game and less of a racing sim.

The views are awful, especially when going around turns. When you take a turn you get a great view of the side of the car., which means you can't see the road. I know this is supposed to simulate drifting, but you can't see where you're going and it makes it impossible to be able to determine when you need to start steering out of the turn. This often caused me to over-steer right into the inside guardrail. Other racing games have simulated this so much better. The only way around this was to drive with the view right over the hood of the car. Some may not mind this but I really like to see the beauty of the cars from the outside when I'm racing.

The AI is pretty hard. Even on the easy settings it's going to take a lot of practice just to keep up. This will really deter more novice racers from enjoying the game and will more likely give up before they gain any skill.

I've played a lot of racing games, and have much to compare it to, so I might be a little hard on this game. But, the consumer must be warned. There are better racing games/sims out there that are worth your money.
