A thin line between Greatness and Perfection but a game that astounds me every time I play it nonetheless.

Undoubtedly this is the best RPG ever made. SoM grasps and immerses you into its large world, beautiful story and characters who are sincerely individual.

Glitches and cliches are overthrown and forgotten about after you've realised it is extremely deep for a game of its age in all of the criterion. The story follows the path of a humble peasant who turns hero and outcast in one fowl swoop. He then endeavours on a quest to find the Mana Tree. The story is epic and is quite entertaining mainly because of the comical attitudes the three main characters have with one another.

The battle system is great as it challenges you to master it and make every blow count but it is never that hard to use in the first place. Levelling up is matter of defeating a certain amount of enemies to gain the next level; each new level needing more bloodshed of cute monsters and creatures. You also have benefits of gaining higher levels. They include: more damage, stronger power attack and it also affects your magic\abilities. The graphics are superb, depicting a land with icy, temperate, woodland, underground and cityscape areas. Each area is done well and takes advantage of the SNESs graphics capabilities. The games difficulty is just right. It can be hard but if you train your characters enough for the boss fights and maybe even endure a couple of defeats you'll be able to rise to the a hero and save the world from the disaster you ironically created. SoM also has one of the greatest experiences IMO the SNES offered which was flying around on the dragon. Can't wait for DoM!!!!!
