Still scratching my head!

What I like about "Scratches", this typical horror adventure game, is the creepy atmosphere which makes it so mysterious and gives me this feeling that there's something unusual going on. It makes me eager to find out what's behind the mysterious events in the old and abandoned Victorian house where I arrive as a horror novelist, Michael Arthate.
Diaries of previous residents, noise in the middle of the night, expectancy...that's what makes the game intense.
I like the graphics, the whole house looks lived-like and convincing, and just recently abandoned.

What I don't like are illogical items which means...even though your logic dictates you to combine some items in inventory or use specific items on a specific place it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes it goes down to this: you combine items so many times until you get it right.
The conclusion of the game or the ending... I expected that, according to slow going story, there would be an ending in a similar tone. But, instead, the ending is quick and not so shocking as it would be if it went just a bit slower -rich story slower- which would increase a player's fear factor. In the end, the whole point of the story lies in it's ending...
