Ubisoft did a wonderful job on this one. It will make you go buy the comics.

User Rating: 9.5 | Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game PS3
Graphics and Animation:
I love the old school feel of this game. The pixelated art style looked colorful, quite detailed, and refreshing. The way the characters moved their heads when they get hit was excellent, because it reminded me of double dragon during the NES era. When you get hit you are going to suffer a severe beating.

Music:
The music is perfect. 8 bit music was a perfect choice for this game. A mix of old school and new school sound playing in perfect harmony.

Story:
The game pretty much stayed true to the comics. Familiar faces, references from old school games, and references from the comic itself.

Gameplay:
The gameplay reminds me of so many old school beatem ups, which brings back great memories. The game also has combat elements that are new and makes you feel beatem ups still have potential in the video game era of today. For example, when you get knocked down enemies may put you in a dog pile and you have to break free from it. Me and my friend laugh everytime that happens. We always say, "Who took it? And who doesn't like beating up enemies with weapons. Almost anything laying around can be used as a weapon, even grounded enemies. There is also a little rpg in this game, because you can level up and use dropped money to increase stats, increase the number of lives, increase life energy, and unlock a certain move.

The only problem I see is that online play is missing. Online play would have made the game even more inviting. It is great to play offline with friends, but it wouldn't hurt to have the option to play with others online. Hopefully a patch will be added to fix the lack of online play. I would have gave SP VS. THE WORLD a perfect 10 if online play was there.
