I want to play it, but it cheats !
The game is a side-scrolling beat-em up that tries to rip-off the old Double Dragon formula & for the most part it succeeds in it's attempt.
It's a pretty game, the visuals are obviously better than the classic that it emulates, but it just get's repetitive after a while, 30 minutes or so is all I can take in one sitting before the game either just starts to cheat & beats the Hell out of me OR my hand get's tired of trying to do the combo's that only work about half of the time.
The gameplay is well, like I said, repetitive. All you really do is block until you think you can actually hit some of the enemies, sometimes there are so many enemies on the screen at one time that you can't see yourself & you can get cheaply beat up just trying to get out the diluge of baddies, the game is VERY opportunistic !
It has a lot of levels & I really like the Mario World lookin' map that you use to navigate the level that you want to play next, but I hate the fact that if you get killed & lose all your lives fighting the Boss(or bosses) the damn game makes you restart at the VERY start of the level again!! Screw that garbage!! I have a life!!
Anyway, the tunes in the game are very good & I think it's probably the high point of the entire game, which, is flawed I'm sorry...but it is.
Overall, I give this game a 6.5, but I really would have liked to have given it a higher score because it IS fun IF you can play with a friend, but just don't expect THAT much that you haven't already experienced before.
