---PROS---
Fun and addicting beat-em'-up style gameplay | Interesting 16-bit graphics to show some old-schoolness | Great music score | Many challenging stages and boss fights

---CONS---
Some parts are kinda hard to get past | Some minor control and visual problems at times

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, when I first saw the movie on Blu-ray it blew my mind. I read the graphic novels afterwards and I was blown away even more! I just recently downloaded the game off Xbox LIVE Arcade, played it for a couple days, and I gotta say that I am blown away once more!

In case you've been living under a rock, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is about a guy named Scott Pilgrim, who is in love with a girl named Ramona Flowers. But in order to date her, he has to fight (And defeat) her seven evil ex-boyfriends... I mean, evil exes... Anyways, it may seem like a weird story at first, but if you actually watch the movie or read the books, trust me, it'll kick your ass!

But I would say that the game is based more from the novels than from the movie, for one thing characters from the novels that weren't in the movie appear in the game, like Mr. Chau and the Fighting Robots. And the storyline is more like from the novels as well.

The gameplay is set like a classic 16-bit style beat-em'-up, and takes place on the streets of Toronto, as well as it's many landmarks like the C.N. Tower and Hillcrest Park. Anyways, you can at first choose from four different characters; Scott Pilgrim, Kim Pine, Stephen Stills, and Ramona Flowers, each with their own abilities and fighting styles. You can download Knives Chau as a playable character, but that's entirely you're choice.

Anyways, you go around stage-to-stage beating people up and earning Canadian change for it. The gameplay also has some RPG elements such as leveling-up and equiping items. You can spend some of "hard-earned" change at local shops scattered throughout almost every stage in the game to increase your stats, or just simply refill your HP.
And once in a while, a mysterious black-haired dude will be walking around the over-world and if you decide to go to him you will fight Mr. Chau, a optional boss fight and if defeated, you will unlock him as a playable character.

Not only is the gameplay and graphics old-school, but the music has a bit of a 1980's sounding ring to it as well. In my opinion, all the songs in the OST are just fantastic. Why aren't many other games like this anymore?

Guess I should start to wrap this up, if you are a big fan of the graphic novels and/or the movie, or just looking for some old-fashioned beat-em'-up fun, I highly suggest that you download this game. It is worth it.
