This is something different. It is not just driving, it is RPG driving. So do not expect a simulator.I love it.

I know, a lot of people just say this is plain and tasteless both if you consider it a simulator (like GTR) or a funny arcade (like Ridge Racers). And if you do not understand that this is something completely NEW, you will come to the same conclusion. Here you have to make your pilot to rise levels, wear the right gears, distribute skills, gather experience points. Which are the actions that give you exp points?Overtaking, winning, best lap, clear lap, stress opponent, make opponents do mistakes and so on.The actions that take exp point?Goin´ out of the track, crashes, being stressed by other pilots and so on.
Think about a RPG (like Baldur´s Gate):here the fight is on the track during the whole race, you can beat them driving well (like every other driving game)or/and using your weapons and skills.Driving is no more the central aspect.I know it sounds strange, but you have to understand (to feel) that it is possible to win a "before impossible to win" race by improving skills(Heart,Vision, Intimidation,Handling,Acceleration,Recovery,Focus, Anticipation, Endurance) and gears (helmets, shoes, gloves, suits).
But you have to use your brain and not pretend to deal with a Need for Speed clone.During the first couple of hours the car will be somehow unstable, slow, wobbly: wait until your pilot is at level 10 or more, and see how everything changes. Also the distribution of skills and gears is important: do no try to win a race with 10th level opponents wearing a 2nd level helmet and gloves. Graphics are good, engine sound so-so,musics are awesome.A.I. is wonderful or at least you will never get bored. But it is GAMEPLAY the real thing. It is NEW and it works. Here you have to fight and drive at the same time.
Again, it is not only driving.I hate those guys that after 10 minutes of play say that this game is bad because the car handles badly. After all, after 10 minutes of every RPG on Earth, how many monsters/dragons/beholders can you defeat? None, you just have to flee from butterflies in search of books and keys to build up your muscles.Just like here. And the fun comes from around level 10 up.One last thing, just switch off ABS and traction control from the beginning, it will be a much better experience.
