Requires 'real' skill for a satisfying experience

User Rating: 9.5 | Savage 2: A Tortured Soul PC
If you played Sav1 you will find this is the same set of maps with a completely reworked balance/gameplay system. Melee combat is far more focused and skill based than Sav1, and takes some time to get used to the new block system (both sides have block now).

There aren't any of the insane 3-6 hour long battles on a single map like Sav1 as there are new features like upkeep that also have an effect on the 'as you play' strategy. Overall, you have to give it several tries to become accustomed to the flow of the game since the offline tutorial is only as useful as showing a total nub what keys/buttons do what. You can't get a feel for the actual game until you join an online battle.

Word of warning, don't sit in the comm when on your first few tries, even if you're a Sav1 veteran. Get a lay of the land, the new units, the new tech/tower/buff limitations and advantages... and most of all, the tactics used for each map.
