Savage 2 is a game for those who love multiplayer gaming for togetherness and competition on a large scale.
Rather, savage 2's angle makes you feel vulnerable as an individual and exponentially powerful in the masses of your organized team. A few features help push this along.
1. Squads simplify organization. Instead of having a rabble of 12 men, you can have 3-4 entities to maneuver. Squads are able to move as one thanks to the squad leader (officer) and his portal. This creates a temporary spawn point for squad members (excluding siege).

Admittedly the commanders role is unintuitive and squares itself for advanced users, it can make you feel like a hero, or a zero. This will leave many new players in that latter.
