you are in control of a lord atempting to take over japan. you can even use your own created character but some of the pre made characters have weapons i havent figured out if you can use with created characters so...hmmm
basically you take over japan by deciding what is good for your people and being strategic about who you attack at what times.
i made a character then leveled her up in free play mode then took over japan which is alot easier when you are 20 odd levels higher than your rival lord.
there is a large range of weaponry but not character models samurai warriors is sort of a let down i prefer to play dynasty warriors 5 extreme legends as it has more customization and you can gain weapons by just looking for suply captians and killing them also you can have up to 4 weapons in dynasty warriors and you can change them up between levels where as samurai warriors has 1 weapon for you character and 1 model of amor and color and.......grrr its just frustrating how limiting samurai warrors is compared to its predicesors....
im my opinion if you want a strategic aproce to a game get samurai warriors 2 empires...if you need more customization get dynasty warrios 5 extreme legends
