If you are playing runescape for the first time, you'll start off with your 'skills' being 1. As this is the case, everything is extremely limited. Once you level up and have skills around 40, you're able to make use of much more of Runescape's content. It doesn't take long to level in runescape for new players, however once you hit level 70 plus in any skill, be prepared to spend hours upon hours levelling one skill.
There is so much content in runescape, especially within the members worlds. But this does come at a cost, but a low one at that; one which I cannot argue with! Not just the content of runescape makes it so great, but also the community. There are many players in runescape, some of which will irritate you, but there are so many more friendlier players. Almost everyone is willing to communicate; just say hello while woodcutting and you will get a response.
To summarise, I have to say if you haven't tried runescape, do give it a go. However it is like marmite to some players! As they simply cannot put up with the graphical aspect of it.
