It does exactly what it says on the case.

User Rating: 6.1 | Rumble Roses PS2
11 pretty looking wrestlers go into the ring to kill one another. It's everyone's dream right? It's a solid well-made game. The game mechanics are solid enough; the graphics are lovely to look at. But after a while, the game just gets samey throughout. The wrestlers all wrestle the same to be honest and the only differences are the characters and their special moves. Which by the way are so outlandish and dirty it makes you wonder if women can possibly bend that way. You'll know what I mean when you play the game.

Breasts move realistically. Did I really dedicate a new paragraph to that?

Yes, yes I did. But i want to highlight the fact that this is what the game is really all about. Staring at women in every known angle in the known universe and getting away with it. The wrestling is just above average at best and you can have a few moments when you get into the match. But because of the creepy bizarre sex factor and atmosphere, it decidedly gets too much to play the game comfortably anymore. It's almost too forward with its characters. And that's when you notice the flaws. Too much recycled animations, dodgy moments and not much diversity between the characters. But the biggest flaw in the game is dreadful story mode.

I don't even think I can relate the story that is so strange and creepy to anything. A nurse is collecting the supple bodies of wrestlers to make the perfect wrestling machine. That’s it. Oh and everyone is finding lost honour and everyone is amazed at how perky Dixie Clement's breasts are. I did not make that up, believe me.

Thankfully the exhibition mode makes up a little for the dire single player. Two players, five rings. That's it. But you can have some fun and you can compete for the title of Rumble Roses and unlock characters galleries of them stretching and what not. Then there's the stupid Mud Match, which is silly. It doesn't look like mud and no matter how hard you try the mud will never touch their faces. Ever. Though the wrestlers are in bikinis, but that novelty wears out after 30 seconds and it's the same bland wrestling game all over again. So it's hardly surprising to find that after the novelty has worn off the game loses quite a lot of staying power and there's not a lot to compensate for that.

The graphics are arguably the greatest asset of the game. The character models are made out of 10, 000 polygons. Each. So they look cool, move okay (well they all move the same but still); so it's funny to find the environments lacking in fine detail. But then again, your attention should and will be focused on the girls. The only thing is, Aisha doesn't look black. She looks like she has a really bad patchy tan. Shame that :(

The music is average. I mean, it's a wrestling game and some of the music is catchy. Not in a good way, mind. Aisha's theme is very creepy I find. I have nothing against Aisha by the way; I'm just using that character has an example. And the fact that Aisha is not real means I'm not really being offensive. It'll be a cold day in hell when a game character finds something offensive. Anyway, moving on. The sound effects are what you expect to find in the game of this type. Generic, dull and they grate after a while. The voice acting is awful, some "classic" lines can be found in here without a hint of irony. So all in all, ranging from pretty average to dire. Though it never finds a comfortable spot between the two.

The value of this game all depends on your sexual appetite. The game is all about ogling at ladies, without the law suits and awkwardness. Unlocking and seeing everything this game has to offer is in the range of 8-10 hours max. There's 11 characters to unlock and a few costumes but they're all variations on what's on offer already.

It's not that the game is bad, no; it's just a good game screaming to get out. It had the potential to be a serious contender, or, a reasonable companion to the WWE Smackdown vs Raw series, but failed. It has some merit of being reasonably functional and slightly above average but once that initial novelty wears off, you'll find the game in poor taste. So, does this game warrant a purchase? Short answer no, long answer yes. If you see this game going for today's prices, avoid. If you see the game ridicously cheap, buy it. It's up to you.

Obviously.....
