Rogue Galaxy is a extremely fun, extremely underrated title for the PS2

I was one of the people to get a late start on the next gen craze way back when in 2006. But looking back now I am thankful that I didn't get a PS3 right away because then I wouldn't have purchased one of my favorite games of all time.

In Rogue Galaxy you play (mostly) as a star gazer name Jaster Rogue who has dreams of getting off his desert planet and seeing what the rest of the universe has to offer. After mistakenly being invited onto a space pirate ship Jaster gets that opportunity. The game has a wide variety of characters. Cool, nerdy, badass, weird, annoying, and gross.

The game has wonderful cinematic, each world is fantastic design. You can upgrade each characters appearance and weapons that appear in cut scenes.

The heart of the game is the story. Like all great RPG's Rogue Galaxy does a great job of telling the story and having it come to a conclusion. Each character has a past and you feel for these characters through out the game. While I didn't particularly like the ending, I feel it gives way to a squeal (keeping my fingers crossed for that :) ) that's not to say the ending is bad it's just the way it comes about that kind of annoyed me.

The Weapon selection is deep and but not so wide. First you start off with a sword and a gun, but throughout the game you will upgrade both of them immensely. Each character has their own weapon and sub-weapon , Lilika has a Bow and Arrow and a hatchet , and Kisala has two daggers and fighting boots (and so on and so fourth with every character) Also you can play as every main character while roaming around worlds and fighting.

The game play is fun but can get to be repetitive. You spend a lot of time running around worlds finding items but since the worlds are so big you can spend a bit of time trying to get from point A to point B. But fortunately they put a bunch of save points in each world and you can transfer from one end of the world to the next liggity split, you just have to be sure to find all the save points. You can very easily spend up to 60-80 hours playing this game.

Overall the game is massive, wonderful to look at, and a joy to play. Like I said it's one of my favorites of all time.
