Spunky's Dangerous day would make you rather wish for a generic platformer, and is an insult to the show.

User Rating: 4.5 | Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day SNES
The good, based one of the best cartoons ever, graphics are detailed and wonderful.
The bad: Puzzles force you to do them at the right time, theme song isn't in the game

Rocko's Modern Life, I love that show! Its gut funny humor includes tons of double entredes and sexual innuendos. Now, did it really need a video game? No it didn't. In fact, Spunky's Dangerous Day is about as big as a disgrace as Nick was when they canceled the show. Basically, the game references Rocko's _____ is a dangerous day catchphrase. How about Bad puzzle game can be a dangerous game?

You need to guide your stupid dog Spunky to a fire hydrant at the end of each level. You must solve puzzles to get Spunky to safety. If you don't, he'll die. Sounds simple? it's not. Spunky walks away every time, and the only way to turn him around is to pick him up. The puzzles are so quick and tedious, you'll wish there was an annoying voice telling you what to do. But no, Rocko's moves don't help either. He'll punch, tail whip, and that's it. Because Spunky won't stay still even for one second, you'll screw up so much.

As for the graphics, they're nice and colorful. The backgrounds are detailed with sandy hills, beaches, and the enemies look good too. The music is ok, but the theme song is missing. You'll probably forget about the music. The voicing sounds like a Genesis game! It's so annoying!

Spunky's Dangerous Day would make you wish for a generic platformer, and is an insult to the show. I wish Heffer could sit on the developers or have the fatheads whack people, because this is crap! You'll need to play this game 800 times to master it, but would you really want to? Frustrating and tedious as hell, it's easy to see why this was overlooked.
